A gay MAGA influencer named Garrett Bruno was recently found dead in his parents’ home in Florida on Tuesday. He was a popular influencer with over 60,000 followers on Instagram. Besides sharing his photos, Bruno also frequently shared his political opinions. At the time of his death, he had been out on bail after being charged with second-degree murder. Bruno had been involved in a crash in West Hollywood in October 2024, which killed 83-year-old Esther Abouab and seriously injured her husband, Joe.
The incident occurred while Garrett Bruno was driving a Ford Explorer near Fountain and Spalding Avenues. Allegedly, he ran a red light while driving at high speed in a 25 mph zone. He then T-boned Abouab and her husband, who were in a Ford Expedition. Authorities later discovered, through a toxicology report, that he had ketamine and GHB in his system.
Despite being involved in this incident, he didn’t stay out of trouble for long. After being released from the hospital, the Florida influencer was photographed snorting drugs outside his home. He even got involved in two scooter accidents—the first left him with a broken jaw, while the second cracked his skull.
On November 15, the police raided his home to arrest him for second-degree murder, but they couldn’t jail him as he was hospitalized. After he woke up in late December 2024, he was soon sent to jail but was released on bail. Bruno then left Los Angeles and went to Florida to stay with his parents. However, he was recently found dead in his parents’ home for unknown reasons. Authorities stated that they are currently investigating the cause of his death.
No Sympathy
Although it’s a tragedy to see a young soul depart so soon, not many people expressed their sympathies online. At least, Redditors didn’t shed any tears upon hearing the news. “Live fast, die young,” one Redditor commented. Many were more concerned about Abouab and her husband’s fate. “May Esther RIP,” another Redditor said.
Others pointed out Bruno’s ridiculous actions and excuses regarding his addiction. At one point, after being photographed using drugs, he claimed that he was snorting ketamine due to a prescription. “I am not a doctor nor a pharmacist, but I don’t think there are any legit prescription meds that you snort,” one Redditor said.
The post’s comment section inevitably got a bit political as some Redditors began attacking Bruno’s political leanings. “Notice how MAGA always attracts shady people. I’ve yet to hear (publicly and in my personal life) of a legit nice person with no skeletons in their closet that is MAGA. Hmm,” another user said. Either way, we’ll need to wait for the investigation to be completed to learn more about the Florida influencer’s death.
