President Donald Trump‘s mission to reform America continues with a new executive order targeting the Smithsonian Institution. The establishment is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and a National Zoo. The POTUS argued that the institution had lost its original standards by promoting “improper ideology.”

“The Smithsonian Institution has, in recent years, come under the influence of a divisive, race-centered ideology,” Trump claimed in his executive order. He noted, “This shift has promoted narratives that portray American and Western values as inherently harmful and oppressive,” adding:

“It is the policy of my Administration to restore Federal sites dedicated to history, including parks and museums, to solemn and uplifting public monuments that remind Americans of our extraordinary heritage.”

Trump tasked Vice President JD Vance with reforming the Smithsonian Institution. He stressed that the establishment must return to promoting America’s “consistent progress toward becoming a more perfect Union.” It must also reflect the country’s “unmatched record of advancing liberty, prosperity, and human flourishing,” per Mediaite.

Trump stressed that the National Zoo and museums should be places where people could learn. He argued that they shouldn’t be “subjected to ideological indoctrination or divisive narratives that distort” America’s history. His order also fought against “exhibits or programs that degrade shared American values.”

The POTUS noted his administration would work on stopping spending on activities that divide Americans based on race. The list included “programs or ideologies inconsistent with Federal law and policy.” The same applies to the woke culture that supports transgender people, especially transwomen.

Trump prohibited the American Women’s History Museum from recognizing transgender people “as women in any respect.” He signed the executive order for the Smithsonian Institution’s reform on Thursday, days after sparking backlash for a segregation order.

Trump sent critics into a spiral after a public memo issued in February was unveiled this month. In it, the U.S. General Services Administration announced a new policy that lifted the ban on segregation. In 1965, Federal contractors were stopped from having segregated facilities like waiting rooms, restaurants, and drinking fountains.

However, Trump’s new order spelled the return of discriminatory practices in hiring and employing U.S. government contractors. The memo stated that “when issuing new solicitations or contracts,” civil agencies should no longer include the provision and clause about the “Prohibition of Segregated Facilities.”

The POTUS and his supporters argued the new policy was aimed at protecting Americans, especially white people and men. However, critics did not buy this argument. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump slammed Trump’s segregation order on Instagram, writing, “While segregation is still illegal, this change sends a CLEAR message.”

His words sparked similar responses from IG users who saw Trump’s policy as dangerous to the black community. “Somebody said he’s moving like a pissed off baby mama…” a critic penned. Another agreed, noting they weren’t surprised as the POTUS “refused to rent to blacks.”

Will President Donald Trump’s orders negatively impact the country in the long run or positively change it?
