Tesla this, Tesla that, every day, hek, every few hours of every day, there’s a new Tesla incident happening somewhere. Across the States, it doesn’t seem like there is any place to run or hide from the current events of our government and what Doge and Elon Musk are up to. Well, one Massachusetts legend took umbrage with reporters trying to get him to take the bait, but he wasn’t having any of it.
Of course, the legend of which I am referring to is comedian Bill Burr, one of the most outspoken voices in Hollywood and a man who always has something to say(often funny to say) if I say so myself. On a video posted by thepoylanthropist on the r/publicfreakout Reddit page, Bill Burr is confronted by some reporters during a red carpet interview and he carefully ducked, avoided, and then called out the media looking for some drama.
The footage, originally captured by Nicholas Ballasy who asked Bill Burr what he thought of the Tesla protests, and this is what he had to say.
I don’t watch the news. I don’t watch the news. I have no idea what’s going on. I watch Instagram. I watch people wipe out on motorcycles. I watch lions and hyenas fight each other. This is the things that I do. And I don’t think you should be asking a comedian. You’re a journalist. No. No. That’s — that’s weak. That’s you guys passing the buck. You guys need to have balls again, which you don’t. You guys always goes, ‘Should we be thinking this? Duh!’ You guys present stuff like that. You guys used to have balls. You need to get your balls back and it’s not my job. I’m a dancing clown.
Several folks on Reddit had a lot to say about the funny clip.
“Bill burr has the face, voice, demeanour and birthplace of someone you would assume is an asshole. But he’s actually the only reasonable mind in America these days.”
“Yeah the final remark really hits home and it’s funny. I would like to include the part “it’s not my job, I’m a dancing clown”. It’s a huge problem for democracy when media/journalist abandon their integrere and professionalism. He is completely right about, they are doing.”
“Also props to him for being one of the only comics to speak truthfully about what is happening in Gaza, while most others in the entertainment world have remained silent.”
Bill Burr is an incredible comedian, and often is very critical of the foolishness going on in the world today, but is also careful not to have his words used against him or be propped up as more than what he is.
