Ohio Family Endures A Decade Of Racist Threats In Their Mailbox: ‘Does Someone Want Us To Die?’

This is insane behavior

Racism is still a significant issue in the world. While humanity has taken steps in the correct direction in the war on racism, some people are just stuck in the past and filled with hate. One example would be an Ohio family that has been under attack by insane racists for years now. Jaunita De La Eosa is a mother and a proud member of the Mexican-American community. However, she recently opened up about her family’s struggles with racism.

According to WLWT, the Ohio family first started receiving these horrifying letters all the way back in 2015. Jaunita would receive a sealed box in the mail. However, inside was an animal skull with the word “muerte” written on it. The English translation of the writing means “death.” This led Jaunita De La Rosa to ask the question, “Does someone want us to die?” However, this would only be the beginning for Jaunita and her family. The following year, they would get yet another scary message in the mail. This time, it would be a magazine with writing all over it.ย

The magazine’s headline read “Go Team USA.” The racists had also highlighted the word “go” and wrote “back to Mexico welfare kids” underneath it. This has left the family in a state of fear. However, the letters would stop for around nine years, until they would begin again. However, this time, it gets a little more tactical.ย

After an almost ten-year break, the Ohio Family would begin receiving racist notes yet again. However, it was addressed to the “home occupants.” The letter stated that the racists had contacted the Warren County, Ohio, ICE Officers and given them the victim’s information. However, Jaunita states that she and her husband are both in the United States legally, and so are their children, who were born there.ย

Jaunita and her family have shown immense amounts of bravery in a time where most likely nothing made sense. However, these incredibly racist people are still out there. Like most that are filled with hate, they did not show their faces or tell their names. Unfortunately, they will continue to hate without most even knowing.

As for this Ohio family, they continue to be a proud Mexican-American household. For the family’s sake, hopefully, they can continue to not let these letters dictate their lives. However, until these disgusting racists are found, Jaunita De La Rosa may never be able to find true peace.
