President Donald Trump is once again making headlines for his controversial administration. The politician recently sparked media outrage for his interview with Fox Noticias, where he addressed his interest in foreign prisons. Trump praised El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele for making the country safe again with his Terrorism Confinement Center.
The supermax prison, also known as CECOT, struck a chord with Trump, who wished to send “homegrown” criminals there. He described these “homegrown” offenders as people who were born and raised on American soil before something turned them violent. The POTUS noted his administration was looking into sending these criminals to El Salvador’s prison, saying:
“We want to do it. I would love to do that.”
Trump and Bukele hit things off while working on deportation flights and sending hundreds to El Salvador’s notorious CECOT. The Republican raved about the prison, praising the Salvadoran politician for launching an impressive criminal system. “We’re using his system because we’re getting rid of our criminals from out of the United States that were allowed to come in by Biden,” Trump added.
Reddit Explodes With Criticism Over Donald Trump’s Comments

The White House resident’s words did not sit right with many who called him out on Reddit. One commenter cited the controversial deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an El Salvadoran national accused of being an illegal immigrant. They argued that America’s situation would only worsen under Trump’s rule, writing:
“The President of the United States is ignoring the Supreme Court and has delivered a legally protected individual into a foreign concentration camp. Now, he is going to continue to do it. If they take you, you’re not coming back. We are in a constitutional crisis, and this is fascism. If we don’t call this out and stop it now, it will never stop.”
Another agreed, suspecting Trump’s “homegrown” criminals comment extended to anyone he doesn’t like. A third claimed the politician would have been “impeached and charged with treason” if we lived in a “sane world.” A fellow critic supported this view, believing Trump would never have been elected if the world were reasonable.
The online criticism continued with a Redditor declaring their hate for Trump and his supporters. A fellow displeased commenter stressed that deportation did not cover the president’s plans for American criminals. Instead, they noted the proper term for his proposed actions would be “Abduction.”
Critics Bashed the President for Calling Out a Reporter’s Face Mask

Trump’s recent criticisms come weeks after he sparked outrage for commenting on a reporter’s face mask. We covered the drama, reporting the POTUS had been talking to the press when he noticed a female reporter’s mask. “You know, I haven’t seen a mask in so long! You’re wearing a mask! So nice of you!” he quipped. Trump’s reaction went viral on X, with users wondering if he was being rude or genuinely surprised by the face mask.
A critic labeled the president “a crybaby” for being bothered by the reporter’s mask, while another claimed he was “a weirdo.” A third claimed Trump was “condescending,” while a fellow critic wondered why he was bothered by the reporter’s choice. Unsurprisingly, this wasn’t the first time the president made headlines for butting heads with reporters. Sources noted Trump was more aggressive about face masks during his first term in office and didn’t like reporters wearing them.
Will President Donald Trump push through with his desire to send “homegrown” criminals to El Salvador?
