An intense snippet of footage has just been released of a Missouri man getting forcefully detained by police officers in St Louis. The clip, which was recorded by the man’s father, shows two cops struggling to detain the man as they hold him down on a patch of grass in a sunny suburb. The father claims that his son was “manhandled” by the authorities, though after watching the video, it’s fair to say that the detainee did try to resist the attempted arrest.
The three-and-a-half minute clip begins on a patch of grass, with the Missouri man on the ground, and with two police officers knelt down on the floor holding him. “Slam his head on the ground again! What did he do? Look at this. Look at what they’re doing to my son!” shouts the father holding the camera. “He’s not even resisting! He’s not even resisting!”
However, in the footage, it does appear that the man the officers are attempting to detain is resisting a little bit, as it’s clear that the police are struggling to put the Missouri man in handcuffs. “What did he do?” yells the father. Visibly irate, the police officer exclaims, “Back the f*ck away!” pointing at the dad.
As the attempted arrest intensifies, one of the officers yells, “Stop resisting!” Under his breath, you can hear the father utter the words, “That’s what they always say, stop resisting.” before shouting, “Hey, you’re gonna break his f*cking arm!” as the police continue to wrestle with the man in a bid to place him in handcuffs.
Continuing on, the father claims that the officers are “choking” his son, but it simply appears like the detainee is attempting to resist the arrest, as evidenced in the video. “They’re choking my f*cking son to death.” cries the father as the heated arrest continues to escalate. Thankfully, as soon as the cops manage to get the handcuffs on the man, things do start to cool off a bit, as the man is shepherded into the back of a police cruiser.
Reactions to the footage are flooding in, and the public is largely dismissive of the “manhandling” claims from the father, as many believe that the Missouri man in question did try to resist the attempted arrest. One Redditor simply penned, “Lol sir he’s resisting” with another adding, “They’re trying to beat him up/break his arms/choke him to death for no reason!!!!!! …. And yet the second he’s in handcuffs it all stops.” A third commenter chimed in, expressing, “C’mon buddy… There was a little bit of resisting going on there.”
