Trump’s ICE has been out of control lately, with riots even starting to break out from all the madness ensuing from the unlawful arrests of anyone whose appearance looks ‘immigrant-like.’ Of course, many have been outspoken against the countless arrests and deportation incidents, but no one was expecting alleged Trump supporter Kim Kardashian to come out and speak negatively of her friend POTUS’ actions against “innocent, hardworking people.” While Kim doubtless has many supporters, plenty more found her comments against ICE to be nothing more than a soulless publicity stunt.
In her post speaking out against ICE, Kardashian admits that ICE isn’t removing dangerous and violent criminals as they are supposed to, but instead tearing people away from their families. “We have to do what’s right,” she states. She goes on to say that, as someone who grew up in LA, communities have been thriving thanks to the contributions of immigrants. “They are our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers, and family,” the billionaire socialite protests. She claims people shouldn’t be turning a blind eye to ICE’s injustice, as “There HAS to be a better way” of doing things. It’s ironic, considering how her alleged presidential ally views this violation of human rights as the best course of action.
Needless to say, a slew of users on the internet are calling out Kim Kardashian on her BS. “This is for public perception only, says a Redditor. “She has a direct line to the Trump/Kushner clan. Wtf is she telling us for?” Another top commenter speaks up, saying that they’re “not buying it.”
“She needs to call out her friend Trump by name directly if she wants people think she’s being genuine. These deportations have been going on for years since the first Trump admin and she only decides to speak up when it’s convenient, when people will question her silence if she doesn’t.”
Some internet users believe the reason Kim has decided to speak up about ICE now of all times is because “someone on her team is being deported, and it’s only now affecting her.” Others began posting pictures of her with Ivanka, standing next to Trump in the Oval Office, or when she did an ad shoot for Elon Musk’s Tesla brand. “Every time I see Kim K virtue signal I die a little inside,” another commenter says in disgust.
It’s clear to everyone that Kardashian voted for this, so hearing her disingenuous surprise that such injustice is happening across the country isn’t fooling anyone. The same goes for other celebrities and average citizens who wanted Trump in office. Despite many now going back on their initial support for the Republican candidate, the damage is being done. The madness won’t stop until the source of the madness is stopped. At the very least, Kim is not speaking out in support of ICE, so that could be a silver lining.
