An unsettling scene unfolded in a courtroom in Texas when a judge removed everyone who disagreed with him, including a Black man who wanted to talk about racism. A Reddit clip detailed the showdown. The video began with Judge Tim O’Hare asking the courtroom if anyone else would like to speak. Another judge, a Black woman who sat next to him, began to recommend who would speak next. However, he rudely cut her off, saying, “Hang on, I will recognize who the speakers are.”
O’Hare then proceeded to say that if there are any more outbursts “of any kind,” the person would be removed from the courtroom. “…I don’t care who it is, we are clearing the chamber. The end. No more warnings,” he declared.
Soon enough, a black man took the stand and began to speak, saying, “The original slave colony of Virginia…” But before he could even form a sentence, Judge O’Hare said, “Remove him immediately.” Confused, the Black judge next to him asked what happened, and O’Hare simply said he was “following the decorum policy,“ because “We’re not gonna be called racist. The end. Get him out,” he added.
Still trying to understand why O’Hare wouldn’t let the black man speak, the female judge asked if “racist” was in the decorum policy. However, the Texas judge rudely asked her to read the decorum policy and “figure it out.”
Next, O’Hare snapped and began to randomly remove people from the building for allegedly not adhering to his instructions. He asked the security personnel to remove a lady for turning around and looking, and another for simply “clapping.”
Another woman took the stand and started talking about the United States Constitution, but before she could finish her sentence, the racist Judge interrupted her. “Thank you ma’am, you’re done.” Another lady took the stand and pointed fingers at the judge, saying, “You’re all dishonest, cheaters, and racist men.” She then turned around and left just as O’Hare, unsurprisingly, asked that she be removed from the building.
Before the clip ended, the female judge said that she had an additional comment. Even though O’Hare tried to cut her off, she refused to be shut down and insisted on speaking, saying that her time wasn’t done.
Users in the comment section all voiced the same opinion about the judge. One commented, “Racists don’t like getting called out. Accountability is a foreign word to them.” Another added, “It’s like Kenny Powers has become a judge. This is just bizarre. Stand up Texas… and flood this guy’s next public hearing.”
One user pointed out that judges often “say the same sh*t to any outspoken person in every court in occupied colonial territory.” Another agreed, commenting that O’Hare is known for allowing people to speak only if they “fellate him or compliment his haircut.”
