Uber has become one of the best ways to get around for the younger generations. However, what happens after what should have been a simple car ride turns into a horror show? Well, this New York woman experienced just that while documenting it all for TikTok. The video has since gone viral after its posting, as many social media users have boosted the video into viral status. They have also left their own opinions regarding the “terrifying” situation.
Distractify reports that New York native, Elise Carlin, begins her video while sitting in the back of an Uber driver’s car. The TikTok has pulled in over 580,000 views on the popular social media platform. In the video, the New York woman is on her way to the airport. The text overlay explains that her driver is playing music that is edited by AI to use the passenger’s name in the songs. “Rare design, oh Elise, you’re everything,” the computer-generated artist can be heard singing.
New York Woman Creeped Out By Uber Driver’s AI Music
While Elise remained silent for the video, her facial expressions may tell the story for her. The woman does not look too happy about the AI songs, especially when they use her name in them. She also would not upload any other parts or videos regarding her strange Uber experience. However, from what the comment section looks like, it appears they were just as shook as Elise Carlin. One even wrote that it looked like “An episode of Black Mirror,” referencing the popular horror series.
Despite the music obviously just being annoying, many also expressed concern over the intentions of the Uber driver. It seems some are confused and worried as to why anyone would do this with a complete stranger in the back seat of their car. However, others seem worried about how well the AI was working. “Won’t be surprised if this is all we hear on the radio in ten years,” regarding the AI songs.
While this was a kind of creepy and weird situation, the New York Woman did not appear to be worked up over everything. While this is definitely an Uber driver she won’t forget anytime soon, she got to her destination no problem. Despite the rising fear of AI, it seems as though this driver just wanted to try something out. However, this could just be the Uber driver’s sign to finally switch back to normal music for those pick-ups.
