There are different ways to have fun with your kids. You could go outside to a park, for example, or you could eat at a restaurant. Another way is to go to a swimming pool. Some New York families, however, decided to bring the swimming pool to the street. There was an over-flooded bike lane due to a broken hydrant, and in a surprising scene, families decided to use this to their advantage. I understand that they wanted to have fun with their kids, but I’m sure that there were a lot of different ways they could have enjoyed their time.
In a video shared by a New York citizen, you can see how a small pool has formed in the flooded bike lane. You get to see several families with their kids swimming there. Some even brought their floaties. One kid even had an inflatable shark to swim with. Plus, no one seemed to care about the flooded bike lane or how clean this was. For me, it doesn’t look clean at all, but at least they had fun.
People Reacting to the New York Families’ Makeshift Swimming Pool
The video of the New York families was shared in a group dedicated to bikers. Not many of them were upset by what they just saw. They, however, were concerned about the safety of the kids and their families. “Not mad but that’s hella nasty,” one person wrote. That made someone try and justify the situation as they said, “It’s running water from the hydrant. It’s drinkable before it touches the ground. They’ll be fine.” Well, it still doesn’t look clean. “It’s the stuff on the ground that theyre now swimming in and splashing into their eyes and mouths that seems troubling, not the water itself,” another person explained.
