4 years after the release of Battlefield 2042, Battlefield Studios has gathered its forces to work on a promising project that’s expected to upgrade the FPS genre to the next level. It won’t be all talk, like we’ve seen with other competitors. Instead, the new Battlefield 6 trailer showcases an all-out war Campaign, with the Multiplayer reveal event coming soon.
In Battlefield 6‘s story trailer, we gain a deeper understanding of the narrative while witnessing massive destruction. Buildings, bridges, and tools of war being used to destroy them are all we see in this trailer. But who’s fighting who in this video? NATO is in great danger, and a mercenary group appears to be forcing them to withdraw from the alliance.
Pax Armata is the group behind these attacks on NATO nations, and they’re described as “a Private Military Corporation bankrolled by former NATO states whose agenda threatens to throw the world into global conflict.” There are scenes where the fight is even taken to the U.S, so it does give some CoD: Modern Warfare 3 vibes, but with more focus on the buildings’ destruction, of course. This is the first full-fledged Battlefield Campaign story we’re getting since Battlefield Hardline in 2015.
Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Reveal Happening Soon

For the first time in history, a full-on Battlefield event is held for the reveal of Battlefield 6 Multiplayer mode on July 31, at 11:30 AM Pacific Time. The developers from Battlefield Studios dive deep into the various aspects and features of the new Battlefield game’s Multiplayer, while content creators share live gameplay.
This is very much like the Call of Duty: NEXT event that Activision has been throwing for the CoD titles since MW2. Now, with the Black Ops 7 reveal also happening soon on August 19th during Gamescom 2025, it is giving us the ultimate rivalry between the two FPS franchises we know and love.
