Saying goodbye to a loved one is typically an incredibly sad situation. While this is still the case for this Pennsylvania woman after losing her husband, how she honors his memory is what is special. Luckily, the woman had filmed a TikTok video that explained her situation and her way of thinking. The video has since gained over 24K views, as this grieving woman tells her story about how she got one of her husband’s tattoos preserved.

Everyone’s asking how we preserved my husband’s tattoo… This is just one piece of the story, but there is so much more to tell. But I want you to know how we did this, and why it mattered so much. 🖤 #tattoostorytime #grieftok #viralstory #preservedtattoo #widowstrong #storytime2025 #angelicavibes #realafmom #healinginpublic #steelers

The TikTok starts with the Pennsylvania native explaining the situation. After the unexpected passing of her late husband, “I knew this was something we were going to do,” as the woman states in the video. She also brings up the fact that she and her husband had allegedly already spoken about this exact situation. The woman explains that when she was at the funeral home getting everything in order, she told the workers that she wanted to preserve one of the many tattoos. However, she then goes into detail regarding the worker’s reaction to this news.

Pennsylvania Woman Explains Decision To Preserve Deceased Husband’s Tattoo

The Pennsylvania woman states that the funeral home was unsure about how to actually preserve the tattoo. The video’s comment section was the same way. “Just when I thought I heard it all,” wrote one confused viewer.  Although as heard in the TikTok, the woman states she did not “ask for this.” She knew this was what her husband wanted, and it was seemingly going to happen one way or another.

The funeral director was then reportedly left with notes of what needed to be arranged. However, it was then that the woman explained a third party stepped in. The video’s poster then states that a company called “Save My Ink Forever” are the ones that actually preserve the tattoo. They also fit the item with a custom frame before shipping it back to the customer. However, the company does not handle collecting the tattoo from the body. The funeral home’s mortician will be the one to remove the tissue, according to the TikTok video.

The Pennsylvania woman continues on about selecting the tattoo she and her son felt most embodied her husband and his father. The one they selected was a Pittsburgh Steelers tattoo with a few pieces of his other tattoos surrounding it. The family seems to be massive Steelers fans, as the woman is even wearing a jersey in the TikTok. While this family is obviously still dealing with major loss, they now have a beautiful piece of art to remember their loved one.
