You’ve probably thought you’ve seen it all when it comes to Florida men, but one man from Miami Beach pulled off quite a plot twist. Because in his attempt to prove his innocence against a domestic violence charge, the man inadvertently accumulated even more felony charges; the cops found some disturbing and incriminating child and animal sex abuse videos on his phone. Oddly enough, it was the Florida man’s effort to present his own phone to vindicate himself.
32-year-old Justin Milton Benore from Miami Beach, Florida, is the man in question. Benore was initially striving to clear himself of a different and lighter charge for allegedly giving his live-in girlfriend a fracture by pushing her to the ground. To clear the charge, Benore claimed “he had conversations and screenshots related to the incident that would prove his innocence” to a detective, transcript courtesy of Local10. He then gave the phone to the detective for data extraction.
However, on July 25, the detectives discovered at least two dozen disturbing videos and images depicting the sexual abuse of toddlers and even a dog. These files were extracted from Benore’s Telegram app, something criminals and felons use for communication and transactions, and thus concluded that Benore was part of a sexual abuse and pedophile material distribution ring.
Benore was quickly arrested and slapped with 25 more felony charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material and one count of possession of images involving sexual conduct with animals. The Florida man is currently in jail at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a $127,500 bond. It’s not clear whether Benore beat the domestic violence charge, but right now, that’s the least of his problems.
Confidently Criminal
People online have since made fun of the Florida man’s predicament, or rather, self-inflicted punishment, since he basically upgraded his charges to heavier ones. Some kept questioning whether he managed to win the first battle before losing the succeeding war, while others guessed that perhaps Benore’s outing himself was a deliberate or perhaps a subconscious cry for help. However, there’s also the chance that it was just carelessness.
“Yeah, but did he beat the domestic charge?” asks BaldurOdinson
“It really sounds like that was just used as a cry for help.. ๐ค,” surmises Head-Engineering-847
“This one..is a thinker,” jokes CurrentlyLucid
Regardless, many were glad that Benore outed himself on his own, though it appears Benore still has a chance to avoid prison time because of the rather manageable bond. He’s still awaiting trial, for the record.
