Tensions ran high in a recent protest on a freeway in North Park, San Diego, California, after a man bearing a pro-Trump/MAGA flag and hat walked up to the group of protesters. A shouting match and protest standoff ensued; however, it appears the pro-Trump flagbearer escalated the standoff after he shoved a woman from the sidewalk and into the road, leading to a chase and altercation:
The incident was recorded by a cyclist who was likely just passing by and happened upon the altercation. Reddit user ChelseaGods then uploaded the footage to the San Diego subreddit. In the video, you can see the agitated San Diego protesters confronting the MAGA flag bearer, whose goal was likely to rile them up anyway, seeing as he raised his flag high and walked straight into them. The man was even slinging insults, and you can even hear him say, “You’re proving yourselves stupid,” and “Out of the way, b**ch!”
It appears the MAGA flagbearer grew frustrated, however, since the woman seems to be blocking his way, so he assaulted her by shoving her right into the road despite the oncoming traffic and the possibility of vehicles hitting the woman. Thankfully, the woman wasn’t severely injured, and her friends and fellow protesters chased the MAGA flagbearer away.
Sadly, the cyclist’s video got cut, and it wasn’t clear what happened to the MAGA flagbearer afterward. However, the debates about sidewalk use and assaulting people in protests ensued online due to the MAGA flagbearer’s actions.
People are condemning the assault
While the San Diego protesters were technically obstructing the sidewalk, some people online believed that shoving someone away and into the oncoming traffic is a poor way to handle the situation. The MAGA flagbearer could have just called the cops or found a way around if he really needed to get where he was going.
“If there’s an obstruction on the sidewalk you cross and use the other side. If you think someone is illegally blocking the sidewalk you don’t shove or hit them you use the police like a sane person,” suggests orangejulius

Apparently, some viewers also found the MAGA flagbearer familiar, as they allegedly saw him in other places, red hat and blue flag included. Others even swore that his pro-Trump flag wasn’t even the most provocative slogan he waved, and that he even tried to smear Michelle Obama in the past.

So it appears that a specific pro-Trump or MAGA flagbearer has a rather destructive hobby of going around protests and harassing women, just like he did in the video above. This time, however, his stunt ended badly as what he did was caught on video and could be grounds for legal action.
