Just because someone is an influencer and appears nice online doesn’t mean they are a good person. That truth is being tested in an ongoing felony case against a Florida influencer who goes by the name Wheelchair_Rapunzel on TikTok. Wheelchair_Rapunzel is a popular content creator with more than one million followers, known for documenting her life with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). She built a reputation as a positive public figure, but behind the carefully curated posts, controversies have piled up.
One of the earliest disputes surrounding her involved the way she allegedly treated her caregivers. Instead of being cared for, several workers have claimed they felt like servants. One former caregiver described the job as emotionally draining, saying Wheelchair_Rapunzel would constantly berate them for small mistakes despite their efforts. While troubling, those accounts were only the beginning.
The most disturbing allegations involve her interaction with a child. Authorities say that this Florida influencer asked a 13-year-old boy to help her bathe. According to reports, the situation began when the boy’s father dropped him off at his mother’s apartment one evening. When he didn’t come upstairs, his mother grew worried. Eventually, he returned and revealed that he had been inside the apartment of Wheelchair_Rapunzel.
The boy explained that she asked him to assist her with highly inappropriate tasks. He reported that he helped undress her, guide her into the tub, and later helped her out. He also stated that he made her bed, assisted her into it, and put on her sleep mask. Most shocking of all, the boy said that the Florida influencer asked him to get her a beer. Though he was only 13, he attempted to comply by going to a nearby business, but they refused to sell him alcohol. He then returned to her apartment until his mother arrived and demanded he leave.
The boy’s mother, shocked by what her son told her, decided to pursue legal action. When questioned by police, the boy clarified that no sexual contact occurred and that he deliberately tried to avoid looking at Wheelchair_Rapunzel’s body. He said he was simply trying to be helpful. Wheelchair_Rapunzel, when interviewed, admitted that her request showed poor judgment but insisted she had no malicious intent. She claimed she only asked for assistance because she struggles to find reliable care.
Regardless of her explanation, the public reaction has been swift and furious. Many already disliked her for her past controversies, and this latest development has only intensified the backlash. Online, critics have branded her a predator. “What a creepy pedo,” one commenter wrote. Others went further, suggesting she should lose custody of her child. On Reddit, users expressed little sympathy: “This sad sack excuse of a person has had it coming for a good, long time. I truly hope they throw the book at her to the fullest extent possible. She’s a plague on everyone in her life, and her entitlement knows no bounds.”
