An Uber driver’s job is to make sure passengers get from Point A to B safely, but babysitting a drunk person? I’d dare say that’s not something they should be expected to do. However, one group of drinking buddies in Georgia decided to throw the responsibility of getting their drunk female friend home on a random Uber driver. The trip was supposed to be 15 minutes, but what happened next caused the drive to last much longer than expected.

First, the woman began raving about how she wasn’t getting home fast enough or that the driver was heading the wrong direction, despite following his GPS with voice navigation. “This lady was acting like I was trying to kidnap her or something,” the Uber driver recalled, as the passenger became more physically unruly before finally trying to jump out of the moving car. After almost getting hit by other traffic on the road, the driver finally had to stop the vehicle beside a random house, where the woman got out and laid down on the front lawn.

NEVER EVER Pick Up Solo Drunk Women

After calling the police and leaving the passenger in the care of the authorities, the Uber driver headed back to the bar where he picked her up to tell her friends what happened. Lo and behold, they had already left. “Her friends are a**holes for dumping her on me knowing her state of mind. She’s a liability and they should have taken her home themselves,” the driver complained on Reddit. He went on, claiming how they weren’t drunk like the woman but “just didn’t want to babysit their friend all f**king night.”

Uber did end up compensating the driver for the trip with $8.46, but even then, he didn’t really feel like it was worth the trouble the passenger caused. “NEVER EVER Pick Up Solo Drunk Women,” he warns in his post on r/uberdrivers. For those wondering why he didn’t just refuse the drive after seeing the condition of the drunk woman, he explains that he initially thought he was taking the whole group home, as they all came out to the car. However, the sober friends abandoned their extremely intoxicated friend, probably to either continue partying elsewhere or go home themselves without the need to care for the drunk woman.

One thing’s for sure now for the Uber driver: he’s never picking up any solo drunk person again, especially at night. Hopefully, the woman doesn’t try to charge him with anything, as he did the right thing by handing her over to the cops.
