Baseball is widely regarded as the United States of America’s pastime. However, for this California woman, the game was not entertaining enough. Popular TikToker Julia Hill has recently filmed herself running onto the field at a Los Angeles Angels game, and of course, it ended with her arrest. The video has gone viral, with over eight million views, as users of the social media app are having a blast with it. However, there are also plenty who don’t find it so amusing.
The TikTok begins with the California woman jumping the fence from the stands onto the baseball field. The video also has text on the screen that reads, “My point of view.” The woman can be seen running full speed around the shallow outfield, and the sound the TikToker chose was the viral Jet2Holidays commercial audio. This sound is put on many funny and or crazy videos online. In this case, running onto an MLB field while a game is in progress sounds pretty crazy. Some of the comments users left on the video would seemingly agree as well. One unhappy baseball fan stated the video was a “cringy cash grab.”
California TikTok Star Rushes Field At Angels Game
As the video progresses, the woman makes a pretty good run for it, but it takes a few moments for security to tackle her to the ground. The camera perspective then flips as the TikTok poster is seen getting arrested face down in the outfield in front of thousands of laughing fans. It would appear that this operation was planned, despite the video’s caption claiming “Intrusive thoughts got to me.”
The video then cuts again, to later that same night. Julia Hill can be seen filming herself outside the police station after being arrested and booked. The woman claimed she had been put in jail for eight hours following her antics. Hill then states that she was scared and thought she was “never coming out for a second.”
Hopefully, the short time this California TikTok “star” spent inside that cell will be a helpful reminder of what could be waiting for her. While running onto the field was harmless for the most part, rules are rules for a reason. The safety of the players as well as the fans should be the utmost priority of the stadium’s staff. Julia’s actions, which put not only herself but also the players and stadium workers in a difficult position, did not go unpunished. However, now that she has done her time, maybe she has learned her lesson.
