Will Smith is back on stage for his first solo headlining tour in over 20 years, the Based on a True Story Summer Tour, which kicked off on July 13 and runs through early September. While the shows should be all about the music, unfortunately for Will, it is not, and if things don’t change, it could be his last tour.
The Bad Boys star looks to be having the time of his life on tour. But looks can be deceiving, and as far as some of Will Smith’s fans are concerned, everything about the tour is off, and they are calling Smith out in a big way.

Will recently posted a clip from his tour on social media. The video shows what Looked Like jam-packed venues full of cheering fans holding up signs. The crowd seemingly appeared to be having a great time. He even captioned it: “My favorite part of the tour is seeing you all up close. Thank you for seeing me, too.”
However, not everyone bought it. In fact, after closer inspection of the suspicious video, some viewers quickly accused him of faking the whole thing with artificial intelligence. “Fake AI crowd, fake comments, bots like. 21k likes for Will Smith?” one critic snarked. Another went straight for the jugular: “Holy AI… It’s not even a good AI render. You instantly see it’s fake.”
Will Smith Fails To Fool Fans
The Sun reports that fans immediately began pointing out strange-looking faces and signs that appeared digitally altered. They soon began blowing up the comment sections on Will Smith’s socials, and it has been brutal. One stunned viewer even asked how Will’s team thought it was a good idea to release the video, calling the crowds “melting” and suggesting his ego was so fragile he needed to conjure fake fans.
This has not been Will Smith’s year. Who are we kidding? It hasn’t been his last few years. It has been one questionable act after the next for Smith and his family. But it seems that Will is taking the worst of it.

Earlier this year, he sparked controversy after sharing a steamy onstage kiss with Spanish singer India Martinez. Fans labeled the moment “inappropriate,” especially given his complicated marriage to Jada Pinkett Smith.
Needless to say, it all seems downhill for Will Smith ever since the 2022 Oscars slap. That night, he shocked millions by rocking Chris Rock’s jaw after a joke about Jada. If nothing else, Will has proven he knows how to command attention no matter how messy.
Despite the fakery accusations and ongoing social media heat, he’s still hitting stages across the globe. And as always, people are watching, judging, and debating every move he makes.
It looks like it doesn’t matter if Will Smith’s tour crowds are real or not. What matters is that everyone’s talking. From suspicious Real applause, fake applause, the question is, does Will even care anymore?
