Nowadays, most people’s attention spans are completely fried. This makes it even more challenging for children to focus, especially on what they need to learn in school. However, a teacher in California may have found a creative way to test how much attention her students are paying, such as using a demon eye. However, it is still not very effective in capturing the full attention of the students, but it does capture adults’ attention, albeit in a negative way.
On her TikTok, @heymissteacher shares parts of her daily life as a teacher, some funny videos, and others about cosplay or her daily outfits. Many adults already criticize this woman for her “unconventional and inappropriate” way of dressing. Although she only has a somewhat alternative or colorful style, and nothing scandalous. Now, more people have lost their minds upon realizing that this California teacher wears a demon eye while teaching children, when in reality, @heymissteacher wanted to wear a more “fun” version of her prosthetic eye. On her TikTok, we saw that not only is her choice of clothing fun, but she also has a variety of eye styles. For example, this woman has a glowing flower, Sasuke Uchiha’s Sharingan, and the fearsome demon eye of Rumi from K-pop Demon Hunters.
The biggest concern of the people who were complaining was actually that this teacher and her demonic eye distracted the children from their classes. However, the teacher explained that the change in her eye color and outfit is now something very normal in her classroom. Her students no longer care whether she has a red eye or a glowing eye, and she believes it is rare for them to even notice the difference. The teacher even said that her eye goes unnoticed, as do her nail designs, which no one even notices. Another teacher agreed, writing, ‘As a teacher, I find it rare that they even look me in the eyes,’ wrote the user Elad Shapira. Others believe that the children’s attention span is so short that they would only look at it for 10 seconds and then forget about it altogether.
What is certain, however, is that this demon eye captured the attention of older people who waste their time complaining about trivial matters. So, they should be more concerned about their attention span than that of children.
