Sony has recently confirmed that its next console the PlayStationย 5 is currently in the works. However, this news was all the way back in earlyย October and we haven’t seen or heard anything about it since then. There have been several leaks, rumors, patent reveals but no real official news from Sony on what to expect.
Well, that may have all changed right now. It seems that a quick 12-second video may have been leaked showing the graphics performance of the PlayStationย 5. Take a look at this video below that shows Gran Turismo in 8K and 120 fps or frames per second.
Sony had something new and special they wanted to show at the annual Inter BEE conference in Tokyo this year. This is an expo that very much like the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas. It’s a show all aboutย different forms of technology and how it performs.
Sony took the stage and showed off its “Crystal LED Display System”ย TV. The display is supposed to be the best for gaming. The massive 440- inch screen is capable of handling up to 120 FPS and 8K. Something I’d definitely want to get my hands on. Even with the video’s quality, you can tell that this display is going to be a monster when it shows video games.
With that being said we can speculate that it will be pretty darn expensive. The demo they shared is what you see in the video. The display doesn’t look that good because it’s from a third party attendant. However, the video still looks quite magnificent and I have no doubt that graphics in a game like that take a while to create.
In fact, Gran Turismo’s creator and Polyphony Digital CEO, Kazunori Yamauchi said “it took six months to create a single car. It’s over-specced for the PS4 Pro. We are building for future versions of the console rather than the one we see today. I think it would be no problem to run it at 8k even.”
