As you may or may not know, Episode: Heresy has concluded. Many players stuck around these three acts for the rewards, plot reveals, and the always-welcome puzzles, one of which led to an interesting weapon, by the way. However, that’s not the end for our Guardians. Destiny 2 has just teased its next expansion, The Edge of Fate, and while the details of it are still a bit scarce, we won’t have to wait long to learn more about it. However, those keen-eyed Guardians have already noticed that this upcoming update might finally unfold a ten-year-old mystery.
The Showcase of Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate Will Take Place on May 6
Before we put on our tinfoil and theory-crafter hats, let’s talk about the showcase. The reveal of Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate will take place on May 6, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT. If you want to be among the first to see what the next year for this game holds, save the date. But now, let’s dive into the not-so-crazy theories and things that might come with The Edge of Fate.
First and foremost, the number nine. If you’ve been following the game lately, you know this number has been everywhere. Well, it’s been around for years, but a bit more in recent months. For starters, we have a new upcoming event coming up, which is “Rite of the Nine.” As you know, Xur and the Nine have been a huge thing in Destiny‘s lore. However, there are some other things that might make you believe we’re in for a huge reveal.
If you are a lore aficionado, you know that the Nine have three different symbols. Oh, and guess where those symbols are? In the Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate promo art. Also, going back to the Rite of the Nine event, many leaks and speculations claim it will launch on May 6. Is it a coincidence? We don’t think so.
While the reveal is still a bit far away, it seems Bungie is cooking something huge for all Guardians. Now that The Final Shape and Episode: Heresy are over, we’re bound for a new adventure. And what’s better than Xur and the Ninte? Then again, we’ll have to wait for an official release, but so far, it seems all signs are pointing in the right direction.
