Aaron Rodgers is coming back bigger and better than before, and fans will get to watch his fantastic journey. The NFL superstar’s recovery from his 2023 season-ending torn Achilles is set to air in an upcoming Netflix documentary. A trailer for the three-part series Aaron Rodgers: Enigma was released on Tuesday, December 3.

The emotional clip captured various scenes from Rodgers’ healing journey, from spiritual moments to him on the field. He recalled losing family and friends amid his difficult trial and the infamy caused by his controversial views. The athlete described himself as living “between two worlds of the extroverted and an introverted lover of silence.”

He claimed he was trying to defeat “Father time and the expectations” before news headlines flashed through the screen. Various reports discussed whether it was time for Rodgers to quit the sport following his Achilles injury. However, the 41-year-old shut down the narrative, proudly declaring, “I’m coming back to do it all.”

The trailer also captured Rodgers talking to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The latter asked him if he had ever considered a political career, a question that resonated with previous reports. Earlier this year, The quarterback revealed Kennedy Jr. wanted him to be his running mate in the presidential elections. However, he turned down the offer.

Rodgers seemingly addressed his disinterest in politics in the docuseries trailer, noting his priorities had changed. “Once I started my spiritual journey, everything shifted. The metamorphosis is happening,” he explained. He also discussed trying to understand the meaning of his “football legacy” and “character legacy,” per PEOPLE.

Rodgers’ Netflix docuseries comes four months after he addressed his infamous gay rumors. We covered in August that the athlete expressed regret over how he handled the matter in 2013. The drama began when gay speculations shrouded the athlete despite having past relationships with famous women. He was forced to clear the air because of  Jason Wilde, the co-host of his ESPN Milwaukee radio show. The latter put Rodgers on the spot by asking him to address the gay rumors in a 2013 episode. At the time, the NFL superstar said:

“I’m just going to say I’m not gay. I really, really like women. That’s all I can say about that.”

While reflecting on this viral moment, Rodgers claimed he initially wanted to find the perpetrators of the gay rumors. However, Wilde discouraged him from pursuing the matter, an advice he wished he had ignored. Expressing regret over his decision, Rodgers said:

“I wish I had done the former because that’s how I really felt. I’m like, say anything you want about me, but do you understand these people are using this to shame the idea of being gay? That’s just disrespectful to all my friends who are in the community.”

Despite his regret, Rodgers did not blame Wilde for discouraging him. He noted they had talked it out, and he would not hold on to the past. “There’s always going to be silly stuff out there in the media, and you can’t worry too much about [it], and I don’t,” he declared.

Aaron Rodgers: Enigma will be released on Netflix on Tuesday, December 17.
