Alan Wake has finally been made available again on Steam, with the Xbox version coming at a later date. Alan Wake was pulled from digital stores back in May 2017, after licensing issues with the music in the game. Now, after over a year developer, Remedy, was able to work alongside Microsoft to renew their licenses to the soundtrack and return the title to its proper spot in respective marketplaces. Remedy took to Twitter stating:

“Big thanks to our partner and Alan Wake’s publishers @Microsoft who were able to renegotiate the rights to the licensed music in Alan Wake, so that the game can be sold again.”

When the initial announcement came that Alan Wake would be getting pulled from stores, Remedy dropped the price by a marginal percent to allow players to pick it up before it was too late. Now, upon its return, Alan Wake is once again available for a great discount. On stores like Humble, GOG, and Steam, gamers can pick up the title for 80 percent off, which is quite the steal for such a fantastic title.

As for the Xbox version of the game, we yet to know exactly when it will be back but were promised that it would be happening sooner than later. Xbox players should expect to see it in the Xbox Marketplace in the coming weeks.

As for the future of the series, Remedy is unsure if they will make another entry, but fans can look forward to a live action television series set in the Alan Wake universe which was announced recently. Remedy is currently working on a cross-platform, third person, action adventure game, Control, that is expected to launch in 2019.
