Alec Baldwin forced to resort to death threats after a Trump impersonator confronts him over Halyna Hutchins Rust shooting scandal outside his New York home. Baldwin stood trial last year for his involvement in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the action flick, Rust. After a heated case in which the actor continuously denied pulling the trigger or knowing the gun contained real bullets, a special judge eventually dismissed the manslaughter charges against him, with prejudice in July. Months later, Alec still stands trial before a jury of his emotional conflicts, fanatics unwilling to let go without claiming their pound of flesh, and constant reminders of his part in the death of Halyna Hutchins.
A social media video that went viral on Monday, February 24 showed the actor and director in a confrontation with a supposed fanatic berating him over the shooting. In the video, Alec Baldwin appeared engrossed loading up luggage in an awaiting car outside his New York home when comedian Jason Scoop, dressed as Donald Trump, approached him and began heckling him while impersonating the president’s voice. Alec Baldwin tried ignoring him for a while, even as the Trump impersonator kept making disparaging comments about Hutchins and the Rust shooting. The comedian was heard saying in the video,
“It’s your favorite president, Look, Alec, I will offer you a total pardon, because I want to be friends, right? I want to be friends. I will give you a total pardon for murdering that woman if you kiss the ring.”
Baldwin Snaps at Persistent Stranger calling Him a Murderer

As Baldwin continued loading his truck, Scoop became more persistent, continuously urging him to “kiss the ring.” He doubled down on the murder allegations as well, even claiming Hutchins would be proud of him for confronting her murderer. The insensitive comedian fired:
“Alec, if you don’t want that pardon for murdering that woman in cold blood, you can call it first degree, you can call it whatever you want, but it was not good. She’s looking down on me right now, smiling, happy. ‘Thank you for confronting the man who took me out, who killed me.”
Alec Baldwin eventually snapped at the Trump impersonator breathing down his throat, chipping in bouts of death threats as he fired back at the unhinged stranger. Turning to the comedian and asking him to look him in the eye, the actor said,
“You got a camera on me here? You realize my kids live in this building? I want you to know something, I want you to be real careful. If this camera wasn’t here, I’d snap your f***king neck in half and break your f***ing neck right here. You know that don’t you?”
Alec Baldwin’s PTSD Triggered After Public Confrontation

Alex Baldwin’s angry outburst has stirred mixed reactions from fans, with most criticizing the Trump Impersonator’s insensitive confrontation. Speaking to People, one source suggested everything the actor said or did during the angry confrontation was justified, as no one would stand idly and watch a stranger risk their kid’s privacy and security. The source pointed out how Alec and Hilaria Baldwin put their kids’ privacy and security above all else and considered family the most important thing. Hence, losing his temper after the stranger intruded was well within his rights. They explained,
“This comedian saw this as an opportunity to gain notoriety and waited outside of his apartment building for Alec to come home, and while Alec was unloading his bag started screaming in his face.
The source then recounted how Alec Baldwin asked the intruder to leave several times to no avail, forcing him to lose his cool and blurt out death threats. The source divulged,
“Did Alec lose his temper? Yes. But would any parent have lost their temper when a stranger was screaming with their kids just a few feet away? Yes.”
Earlier this week, Alec Baldwin’s family discussed the impact of the Rust shooting and its aftermath on the premiere episode of their new reality show, The Baldwins. In the season premiere, which aired on TLC on Sunday, the actor described the experience as “surreal,” admitting these days, he felt happier asleep than when awake. Hilaria disclosed her husband was diagnosed with PTSD in the wake of the Rust shooting scandal, and often found himself wishing he, and not Hutchins, had died in the tragedy. While living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in the wake of the shooting was daunting enough, having to deal with such confrontation would only serve to trigger him. Perhaps, that explains the actor’s angry outburst at the Trump impersonator, which fans agree was well deserved.
