The latest trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies showcases the main characters of the Terminus Island map. There are familiar faces among the crew and fresh blood, Maya Aguinaldo joining our next Zombies conquest. Unlike the recent Zombies iterations of the game mode in Call of Duty games, we’ve got the set crew in Black Ops 6 that interact with each other with unique and story-related dialogues, and here’s a brief review of their backstories.

Gregori Weaver

  • Date of Birth: November 10, 1936
  • Nationality: Russian-American
  • First Seen: Black Ops 1 – Operation Flashpoint
  • Status in MW3 Zombies (Current Timeline): KIA

Operation Flashpoint was the first time we saw Gregori Weaver in a Call of Duty game. His eyepatch is a gift from Lev Krevchenko on the same mission, and he is later saved by Alex Mason and Frank Woods. So unlike many of the other Zombies characters, Weaver has a deeper connection to the series.

Born in the Union of Soviet Socialists in 1936, Gregori reached the land of the United States of America during WWII in 1945. He is later picked by the CIA for his show of talents in the Ranger school and the fact that he can speak native Russian. But sometimes after the events of Black Ops 1, Weaver is contacted by none other than Samantha Maxis.

Upon defeating Nikita Dragovitch, Weaver is directed to lead a new group called the Requiem, investigating the Dark Aether anomalies. However, he loses Samantha and is never able to bring her back from the Dark Aether. To make matters worse, he is later captured and sealed with his Requiem crew inside one of the darkest prisons on the globe, the Terminus Island. Weaver is one of the main playable characters in Black Ops 6 Zombies.

Mackenzie Carver

  • Date of Birth: N/A
  • Nationality: American
  • First Seen: Black Ops Cold War
  • Status in MW3 Zombies (Current Timeline): KIA

Major Mackenzie Carver is one of the unplayable characters in the Black Ops Cold War Zombies storyline. Coming from a military family, Carver has fought many wars from Korea to Vietnam. Carver later joined the Requiem group in 1983, hand-selected by the Director, AKA Edward Richtofen.

Major Carver was never a boot on the field in any of the Black Ops Cold War Zombies maps, aiding the Strike Team on the radio. However, he also gets arrested by the orders of the Director, ending up in a cell on the Terminus Island. After 6 years, Carver, just like the other main characters of the Black Ops 6 Zombies, is now keen to take revenge on Edward Richtofen.

Elizabeth Grey

  • Date of Birth: N/A
  • Nationality: British
  • First Seen: Black Ops Cold War
  • Status in MW3 Zombies (Current Timeline): KIA

Elizabeth Grey’s role in the Dark Aether Storyline, which started by the end of Black Ops 4 Zombies, is as bold as giving birth to Samantha Maxis’ child. As seen in the MW3 Zombies Act 4 cutscene, Dr Grey is in fact the one that gave birth to Ava Jansen, daughter of Sergei Ravenov and Samantha Maxis.

Elizabeth Grey is first seen in the Black Ops Cold War, and she is behind the radio in almost every Zombies map. However, she too falls into the fate of custody by the orders of the Director, enduring a harsh life of survival and imprisonment on Terminus Island.

Maya Aguinaldo

  • Date of Birth: N/A
  • Nationality: Filipina
  • First Seen: Black Ops 6
  • Status in MW3 Zombies (Current Timeline): N/A

While Dr. Strauss is too old to fight and Raptor 1 probably returning to his role of giving our crew an exfil in Black Ops 6 Zombies, there’s a new face among the main characters of the Terminus Island map: Maya Aguinaldo.

Treyarch has confirmed a few key pieces of information about the character so far. We know she is a Filipina smuggler working with Dr. William Peck to breach Terminus Island’s prison and free the Requiem. She is here for some personal goals, which confirms that she’s looking for her brother, a mysterious figure we don’t know of. And that’s it.

Maya Aguinaldo is probably the most important Terminus Island crew member among the rest in Black Ops 6 Zombies, as she might know some critical info that’d point toward Edward Richtofen. Who is her brother? Why should he be in the Terminus Island? And why does she work with a traitor like William Peck?

There’s a lot to discover with Black Ops 6 Zombies, and we may get some answers as soon as August 28, 2024, with this year’s Call of Duty Next event.
