Genshin Impact 4.0 update adds another huge region to be explored, called Fontaine. The seventh region of the game houses Lady Furina, the Hydro Archon, as well as tons of new items for you to collect. As you travel through the Genshin Impact area and finish quests, you might eventually stumble upon a unique item called Drained Conch Cup. But, what is actually the purpose of this mysterious conch?
Genshin Impact: Where Can You Find All Drained Conch Cups?
“An ancient conch container, and it can perhaps be traced back to an even older civilization.” – official in-game item description.
In Genshin Impact, the Drained Conch Cup can be found in two different areas in Fontaine:
1. Narzissenkreuz Ordo
One can be found in the Narzissenkreuz Ordo area. It is inside the room with one Precious Chest and one Exquisite Chest. The Exquisite Chest contains the Key to Some Place in the Institute quest item. While the Precious Chest contains the Conch.
2. Institute of Natural Philosophy
The second Drained Conch Cup is obtained at the Institute of Natural Philosophy area of Genshin Impact. From the Teleport Waypoint, head northeast and read the book inside the decrepit room. This will transport you to the room containing two chests. Open one of the Precious Chests inside for the item.
The Institute of Natural Philosophy will be unlocked once you have completed the “Aqueous Tidemarks” Quest. You will visit the location too when you are running the quest, so you can find the item while you are completing it as well.
Genshin Impact: How To Use Drained Conch Cup
At the time of writing, the Drained Conch Cup cannot be used for any crafting or Genshin Impact quests and its purpose remains unknown. However, do keep in mind that mysterious items like this might gain significance over time. In future updates, miHoYo will probably give a purpose for this item. So it is wise to keep them in your possession for potential future use.
