Airports can be a stressful experience for many, due to the long queues, tight deadlines, noisy crowds, and the constant security procedures. Needless to say, some travelers can get a little frustrated by all the strict regulations that they have to endure, as it’s often not as easy as simply walking from A to B like other places. Indeed, while it can be a bit exhausting jumping through hoops for security, it’s in everybody’s best interest to just toe the line and follow instructions, as the rules are there to keep everyone safe. Whatever the case may be, just do not — for whatever reason — be like this irate passenger who ended up punching a gate agent in Washington Dulles International Airport.
In the brief 5-second snippet of footage, a man wearing blue jeans, black Nike trainers, an azure puffer jacket, and a cobalt blue cap can be seen queuing up at Gate D12. He’s planning to board as the last flight is deplaning. As he approaches the gate, you can hear the man yelling, “Who f***ing wants to take it first?” A gate agent calmly steps in front of him with his hand out in a stop gesture. Unexpectedly, the angry passenger suddenly throws a punch at the gate agent, knocking the airport official to the ground.
Accompanying the tweet is a brief description of the incident from a witness at the scene, which reads, “Angry guy at Dulles airport tries to get on a fully booked plane and knocks out the flight agent.“
As the clip continues to gain momentum online, internet users were left baffled by the man’s aggressive behavior. Over on Reddit, one user wrote, “Welcome to the no fly list for life. Idiot.” with another chipping in with, “Good riddance to a stupid passenger that will never bother another person flying ever.” A third comment came in from X, writing, “I was on this flight. Kind of wild to watch in person“
While the aggressor was arrested on the spot, the gate agent — who is apparently a very well-liked member of the team — was taken to hospital on a stretcher. At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether the man was intoxicated or under the influence. It’s also yet to be confirmed whether the passenger will be placed on United Airlines’ No Fly List, though it’s very likely after seeing this damning evidence.
