With only a few hours left until the 2025 Met Gala, one thing is clear—Kanye West is not wanted at the event. And Anna Wintour has reportedly taken measures to ensure the rapper doesn’t crash fashion’s biggest night. Aside from not inviting the God Is rapper, Wintour has reportedly ordered tight security at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A Met Gala insider disclosed that the Vogue editor-in-chief has a plan against Kanye pulling any theatrics. “Anna is not messing around. “There’s a full protocol in place if Kanye is spotted anywhere near the carpet,” the informant told Radar Online.
Another source confirmed that the Met Gala co-chair indeed has a strategy. “If he shows up, there’s a plan,” revealed the insider. “Anna has made it clear– no drama on her carpet.”
Wintour is not the only person against West’s appearance at the event. Ye’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, is reportedly against him attending the event as she doesn’t want an unwanted confrontation.
Sources close to the KKW Beauty founder said, “Kim is focused on her look and her brand. The last thing she wants is Kanye pulling a stunt.”
Kanye West Wrecked Havoc At The 2025 Grammy Awards
A high-level fashion security expert added that the security measures were ordered because of West and his wife Bianca Censori’s provocative appearance at the Grammys. Ye also teased a KKK outfit for fashion’s biggest night.
Last week, in one of his usual online rants, the Donda Academy founder gave a glimpse of the outfits he and his wife would wear to the Met Gala. Taking to X, the rapper posted a sketch of an outline of a naked man with a KKK hood. Next to the man is a woman in a dress, also wearing a hood.
“It’s not just about the outfit– it’s about the chaos he brings,” explained the security personnel. “After what happened at the Grammys, no one’s taking chances.”
Fans can recall that the rapper and his wife caused a stir at the 2025 Grammy Awards in February when Censori appeared on the red carpet semi-naked.
As we reported, the Australian model pulled up to the event in a see-through dress, without underwear. At first, Censori was draped in a large fur coat, which she abandoned once they got on the red carpet. After the couple’s appearance on the carpet, they were allegedly kicked out of the event.
