Another Version is Coming to Genshin Impact, and It Seems the Voice-Acting Issues Still Remain

We continue on mute for a while longer

A new version of Genshin Impact is coming, and from what we can see from the Special Program 5.3, there is still no indication that the problem with the Formosa voice actors has a solution yet. So far, we still have no trailers in English, and in the game, only a few characters speak, whether it is an Arcon quest or not. This makes it weird that, basically, only Paimon speaks with a sporadic interruption from another VA, like in Nahida’s birthday event. However, it must be stressed that this is not HoYoverse’s fault.

The main issue for the lack of VAs and trailers in English is due to a strike of actors working for Formosa Ocean Post, and that is why filming stopped for Genshin Impact. This is even more surprising because this is a studio division with big projects in the video game industry, such as God of War, Helldivers 2, Dead Space, and many more.

So far, rumors suggest that HoYoverse is trying to recover the VAs of this studio and get back to normal. However, this is a long process. For now, Kachina’s VA is one of the few who managed to change studio, and that’s why her voice is back in the new patches. While Paimon and Cyno are signed to another studio, which is why their characters’ voices are not currently in English.

Sadly, many believe that HoYoverse is to blame for everything, although this has more to do with the strike and the studio they work with. For example, Honkai Star Rail also had some issues, but most of the English voices were present, and in Zenless Zone Zero, there was no noticeable issue. Let’s hope that all involved will come to an agreement soon and that the original voice actors of Genshin Impact return.
