Playing relaxing life simulator games is one of the best ways to spend your weekends. PC players, in particular, often enjoy modding their games to enhance their experience with more quality-of-life features, such as reducing the farming and grinding time or even just a simple model swap. However, does Palia actually offer support for mods, and what tools can you use to make the game even more enjoyable?

Does Palia Support Mods?

You cannot mod Palia because the game is designed as an online game from the ground up. The game files are saved on the client/player’s PC, but any changes during your playtime must be synchronized with Palia‘s central server. That means you cannot modify any files, as the server will detect them and refrain you from running the game.

Nevertheless, there are a few tools that will allow you to make adjustments to your experience exploring Palia.

ReShade Post-Processing Tool

At the time of writing, the only available “mods” for Palia on the popular NexusMods site are the ReShade visual tweak presets. ReShade itself is a third-party tool that allows its users to add additional post-processing effects to a game. From color correction and ambient occlusion to chromatic aberration and SMAA antialiasing, you name it.

You can tweak all of the individual settings yourself, but it can be a bit confusing. Not to mention that turning on some options can take a toll on your hardware. To help you out, we found that these two presets can be the best settings to start with. Of course, you’ll need to install the ReShade application first before using this Palia mod:

Aside from the filter presets, there is also the Palia Map tool. This is technically not a mod but a third-party overlay. Created by Leon Machens, this overlay will display real-time villagers’ wants and node tracking over your screen. This map tool will definitely offer great help when running errands for Jina and others or farming rare items like Brightshrooms. However, installing this overlay tool will require you to install the Overwolf gaming launcher as well.
