Arizona Attorney General Suggests Trump is a Dictator in Scathing Attack: ‘Trump Has Decided the Constitution Doesn’t Matter’

‘People don’t support what’s happening’

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes has delivered a scathing condemnation of President Trump’s administration on YouTube, suggesting that Trump is behaving like a dictator and claiming the president “has decided the Constitution doesn’t matter.” In the incredible video, Mayes succinctly outlines her issues with what she describes as “executive overreach.”

In the direct and short video entitled “Ongoing Coup”, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes declares that “there is an undemocratic administration in power.” Remarkably, she even suggests President Trump is effectively a dictator. Mayes states that “the actions of the Trump administration in the last three weeks can only be described as dictatorial.” It’s a strong claim indeed, but Mayes is far from the only key figure to speak out recently.

In the withering attack, Mayes claims that every day there is a new action of executive order that “makes a mockery of the rule of law.” Mayes suggests that the current situation is “incredibly dangerous“. Further, she doesn’t mince her words by declaring: “There is an ongoing coup against the Constitution.“

Kris Mayes goes on to lament that “Congress is nowhere to be found.” She claims that the power of Congress has been handed to “an unelected billionaire.” Of course, this is a reference to Elon Musk who, as head of DOGE, continues to have a significant say in American politics.

Interestingly, Mayes points out that Republicans hold majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate. They could, therefore, pass the administration’s policies through Congress without issue. The reason this isn’t happening, Mayes suggests, is because Republicans “know the American people don’t support what is happening.” She clarifies that Americans don’t support Trump’s attacks on education, law enforcement and healthcare funding. Instead, Kris Mayes claims, “Trump has decided the Constitution doesn’t matter.“

Kris Mayes finishes by claiming Trump’s administration has launched “an assault on the very foundation of our democractic republic.” She states that she’s taken action to block Trump’s “illegal” actions and will continue to do so in court. Mayes calls for support, however, saying it’s “time for every American patriot to stand up.” She concludes that, the moment lawlessness is allowed to prevail, it undermines everything that Americans fought for.

The emotive speech, although short, highlights just how appalled some senior figures are with the Trump administration. By describing the government as “dictatorial” and “authoritarian”, Kris Mayes has made it very clear she won’t hold back in condemning President Trump.
