Season eight of Arrow is the last time fans get to hear a Batmanesque Green Arrow say ” you have failed this city” to a villain about to face his death or just prison. It depends on how Oliver Queen is feeling that day.
The title of the season eight premiere, revealed among a slurry of Arrow news, calls back to when Queen said his favorite catchphrase much more often.
A social media post by showrunner Beth Schwartz revealed the title of the season eight premiere – “Starling City.”
This title is sure to intrigue fans. Starling was the name of the city of setting for Arrow before it was renamed Star city. The renaming was in honor of Ray Palmer whose death in Arrow introduced him to the time-traveling shenanigans of Legends of Tomorrow. The episode title will undoubtedly raise much speculation.
Not to mention the episode is written by Marc Guggenheim, the shows first showrunner, and Schwartz, the shows second showrunner. The details scream some type of past and present correlation or time travel storyline.

Stephen Amell, Oliver Queen, also posted a photo on social media confirming the last season of Arrow started filming on Thursday.
The actor added the caption “one last time” to the photo, which revealed the episode is directed by James Bamford. Bamford, or “Bam-Bam,” is the fight coordinator and veteran director for the CW show.

A teary-eyed Amell posted a video on March 6 where he discussed Arrow ending after a ten-episode run in season eight. The show’s end was a collaborative, creative decision that was also influenced by Amell’s family commitments. Amell mentioned how transformative the role was for him.
“I have been on this show on what can only be described as a fundamentally, transformational, nearly decade long run in my life.”
Arrow is quite possibly one of the biggest DC shows ever created. Not only that but it initiated the Arrowverse. It launched shows such as The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Batwoman, premiering October 6.
The last season of Arrow is highly anticipated and fans are looking forward to seeing what happens to their favorite archer. Last season saw Queen leaving with the mysterious cosmic being Monitor to fulfill an important, possibly world-saving, role in “Crisis on Infinite Earth’s” crossover event.
In other news, Arrow season eight suits were teased and Katherine McNamara, who played Felicity Smoak’s future daughter, will be a regular for this final season.
The final season is set to premiere on October 15.
