That’s according to Metacritic; before the recent Baldur’s Gate 3 reviews were released, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom wore the crown with 96 points. The game got off to a fantastic start on Metacritic with the first reviews, and after the recent reviews got published, the game is now officially the highest-rated game of 2023. Those reviews are only from established critics of the gaming world, but the user reviews tell a similar story; players rated the game 9.1 out of 10.

Metacritic’s highest-rated game could mean the best game in that category, and The Legend of Zelda‘s latest installment surprised and haunted everyone with its impressive gameplay. Even though Baldur’s Gate 3 wasn’t the only solid game we saw after The Legend of Zelda, it was able to keep the leader position for months. There are still big games we expect this year, so it’s too early to say that Baldur’s Gate 3 will remain the best game of this year. It’s also worth noting that the score is only given for the game’s PC version. The PlayStation version is releasing next month, and we will see a different rating for that version.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the big games coming this year that has the potential to beat Baldur’s Gate 3. But the reviewers give different points for different platforms, so the PC version won’t compete with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The PS5 version is expected to deliver almost the same game, but there are still special experiences that could be only achievable on a console. Considering the PS5 is nearly as strong as a high-end computer, the developers shouldn’t fail to optimize the game for PS5. The game already rocks; the only expectation from the PS5 version should be good optimization.
