The only thing our country loves more than sports, political controversy, and guns is food. Fast food, to be exact, and if we want to really drill down, big juicy burgers are at the top of that specific food pyramid. Now, Texas is considered one of, if not the best, place in the South to get great barbecue. Briskey, smoked steaks, double bone-in porkchops, you name it, and many a Texan will say they can grill and or smoke it. But soon a new challenger will enter the fray, a chain that’s been a meme, been in a movie, and much more. White Castle is coming to Texas.
In a post shared to the Texas Reddit thread by user TheDoctorCarson, the 100-year-old fast food chain will be coming to Texas. In the post was a news report by Chron, in which a detailed breakdown describes it as a Dallas location that will be the fortunate Texans to get first dibs at the beloved piece of Americana. White Castle is poised to open the restaurant in 2026, so eager eaters won’t have to wait until they get to try their hand on the food and see if its as good as advertised or merely overrated.
Here is what locals had to say about the impending arrival.
“If Krystal Burgers couldnāt make it, now sure WC willā¦some long time burger joints been around in the area since 40-50s and just barely making it.”
“Finally Texans Will Have Good Food lol”
“As terrible burgers go, these are my favorite”
“Yay! I like White Castle. But Iām not driving that far for it. Hope they succeed here.”
“I miss white Castle, hope they eventually come to my area”
Now Texans don’t have to watch old, used-up DVD copies of Harold and Kumar to get their White Castle burger fix when it arrives early next year.
