This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Yakuza protagonists Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu get most of the attention, but they’d never be able to accomplish their mission without the help of friends. Infinite Wealth takes a flexible approach to turn-based combat, and knowing how to best use one’s party members makes a big difference. Balancing magic, elemental attacks, proximity attacks, and other special maneuvers is key, and every character you recruit expands your tactical options. Here are the best party members to save your playthrough when things get rough in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, in no particular order.

5. Nanba

You’ll need a good spellcaster throughout the game to take advantage of enemies’ elemental vulnerabilities and bring pain to enemies from a distance while keeping yourself safe. There are a few good picks in this category, but Nanba is arguably the best spellcasting party member in Infinite Wealth. Nanba’s Homeless Guy Job packs a strong selection of magical skills, making him an invaluable backup for bruisers like Adachi and Ichiban. Just make sure Nanba stays far from the frontline because it won’t take too many hits to put this glass cannon on the floor.

4. Chitose

Saeko, Tomizawa, and Nanba are all good picks for party healer, and if you’re willing to do some Job-swapping, they aren’t even the only ones who can do it. Best of all, however, is arguably Chitose. Healing is crucial for keeping a tank like Adachi alive, but if healing is the only thing your party member is good at and other party members go down, you might find yourself in need of a skill you simply don’t have. Chitose brings a useful mix of healing, DPS, and buffs to the table, and while she’ll never replace someone like Kiryu for damage-dealing, she’s an almost irreplaceable support character, especially if you level Kunoichi too.

3. Adachi

Adachi’s durability makes him the ideal tank, and that’s something you’re not going to beat Infinite Wealth without. If your party leader dies, the game is over, even if the rest of your party is at full health. That effectively makes Kasuga and Kiryu like the king in chess. It’s not glamorous, but sticking Adachi on the frontline and letting him take the beating for his friends is a great strategy. That’s especially true when you get further in the game. Adachi’s starting Detective role is well-equipped to handle the task, so you don’t even need to swap for another Job until you feel like it, giving you time to get comfortable with his abilities.

2. Kasuga

It’s no surprise that the star of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is also one of the best party members. What makes Ichiban Kasuga so good? First and foremost, his DPS. Ichiban doesn’t have a wide array of magic or healing abilities, but he doesn’t need them. Put a bat in his hands and let him go to work. Though he can take a beating, he can’t tank, because if he falls, it’s game over. That somewhat limits his frontline potential and means you always need to consider his positioning. Use skills to draw aggro to other party members if necessary. Even so, Ichiban is a ferocious combatant who shouldn’t be overlooked.

1. Kiryu

The Man Who Erased His Name is back, and his Dragon of Dojima Job is one of the best in the game, making him an easy pick for MVP. Being able to insta-swap between fast, strong, and balanced styles means Kiryu brings a ton of flexibility to combat. He also excels at breaking enemies out of Guard, giving you a reliable way to deal with foes who insist on turtling. That means that in addition to bringing excellent DPS to the table, he’s also a great opener for Ichiban, Joon-gi, and other heavy-hitters with follow-up attacks.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
