Beyonce fans have been on edge since she first announced that Netflix would stream her NFL Christmas Day halftime performance. In case you forgot, the streaming giant had angry fans after the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight. After hyping it up as one of the biggest sporting events of the year, Netflix dropped the ball. The fight, which millions tried to tune in to see, was interrupted by poor quality and extreme lags. Following Beyoncé’s announcement, fans were nervous her performance would feature some of the same antics. However, the multihyphenate’s performance was flawless, and some watchers have a theory as to why.

Did Beyonce Check Netflix Before Her Big Day?

Beyonce must've put the fear of God into Netflix. There wasn't a single lag, blurred screen, or red circle seen. Nothing was amiss. The Tyson fight was definitely a tuneup for this. #BeyonceBowl #NFLonNetflix

In case you missed it, Beyoncé performed several songs from her chart-topping country album, Cowboy Carter, on Christmas Day. She had special guests, including Post Malone, Shaboozey, and several rising country stars like Tanner Adell. Throughout the 13-minute extravaganza, fans were holding their breath to see if Netflix would fumble the bag. However, to everybody’s surprise, this stream was perfect. “Beyonce must’ve put the fear of God into Netflix,” somebody wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “There wasn’t a single lag, blurred screen, or red circle seen. Nothing was amiss. The Tyson fight was definitely a tuneup for this.”

Beyonce Was Never Worried About Her NFL Performance

Beyonce has been performing on massive stages worldwide since she was a teenager. So, her Christmas Day performance with Netflix was par for the course. Following her initial announcement, fans flooded her Instagram comments with concerns about Netflix’s ability to keep up with her productions. Beyoncé never responded to the concerns directly; however, her mother did. Mama Tina Knowles, who is always in the headlines, spoke about the performance days before her daughter was set to take the stage. During a conversation with TMZ, the fashion designer said neither she nor her superstar daughter were worried about the big day. Why? “God is gonna be there,” she said.

Before Netflix even streamed Beyonce’s live performance of Cowboy Carter, many fans wondered if they’d be able to catch the show again once it was over. Initially, the Ravens vs Texans game (including Beyoncé Bowl as Netflix is calling it) would only be available to watch until 11 PM, per Variety. However, Netflix decided to keep the Christmas cheer going by announcing Queen Bey’s showstopping performance would become a “standalone special.” The streaming giant announced that the halftime show would be available the week of December 25, 2024.

Beyoncé wouldn’t be Beyoncé without teasing her audience. In addition to Beyoncé Bowl coming to Netflix … fans may be getting more than that soon. After her star-studded halftime show, the 32x Grammy award-winning artist shared a teaser on her social media accounts. The short clip shows her sitting atop a horse while waving an American flag. Red text then flashes on the screen with the date: “1.14.25.”

Only Beyoncé and her team know what’s coming next. However, if she’s following the format of ACT I (RENAISSANCE), then a tour announcement is surely around the corner. But … it’s Beyoncé we’re talking about … the singer is always up to something.
