The Binding of Isaac is almost getting silly with its new releases. On the game’s blog page, developer Edmund McMillan released a new trailer for the upcoming edition, as well as details on what is included and a January 3rd release date. Check out the creepy trailer for The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ below:

Creepy, right?

The original Binding of Isaac was released back in 2011. It is a roguelike bullet-hell game that clearly draws inspiration from The Legend of Zelda with its room layout and dungeon design. Players play as Isaac, a small child fleeing through the basement from his mother, a religious zealot who believes God instructed her to murder her son. Along the way, Isaac collects powerups, unlocks new characters, and fights terrifying monsters. It is incredibly difficult, and some of the game’s most diehard fans have sunk thousands of hours into uncovering all of the game’s secrets. There have been numerous expansions and updates, swelling the amount of content in the game to outrageous proportions.

McMillan’s newest release, Afterbirth+, will add a tremendous amount of new content to the game. Here are some of the features you can expect:

  • Full mod tool access
  • An entirely new chapter, four new bosses, a new final boss, and a new character
  • 100s of new rooms
  • 67 new items
  • More challenges
  • More achievements
  • Bestiary (to keep track of every enemy type you have killed)
  • New cutscenes and music tracks
Guppy, Isaac’s pet cat, has been through a lot.

There is more listed, but you get the idea. The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ will bring a ton of new content to the game. McMillan also claims that, along with mod access, he will select some of the best user-created content and incorporate it into the game in later updates.

Afterbirth+ will release on January 3rd on PC, and will come to PS4, Xbox One, and “one other console” (most likely the Nintendo Switch) in the spring. It will cost $10 on Steam, but customers who pick it up in the first week will get a discount, down to $6.66.
