Black Ops 6 Live Action Trailer Features a Bunch of Prominent 90s Political Faces

“They always need men like us”

As we’re getting close to the June 9 full reveal of Call of Duty 2024, Activision has fueled the marketing train for Black Ops 6. So far we’ve followed websites, teasers, and in-game references all acting as pieces of the puzzle for revealing the Black Ops 6 story, Zombies, and the main villain from the 90s’ Gulf War. Saddam Hussain is the next Perseus-level threat of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and the recent live-action trailer showcases that in a very Treyarch’s Black Ops fashion.

The trailer is a black and white filtered video, featuring some of the political faces like Margaret Thatcher, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in the early 90s. They hide the truth in the shadows, and then Saddam Hussain, presumably the main villain of the game comes in, telling that if we’re looking for the truth, we should be seeking it in the dark. Here’s a list of all real-life inspired characters in the Black Ops 6 live-action trailer:

  • Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Margaret Thatcher (1975 – 1990)
  • United States Secretary of State, Colin Powell (2001 – 2005)
  • 41st U.S. President, George H. W. Bush (1989 – 1983)
  • President of Iraq, Saddam Hussein Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti (1979 – 2003)
  • 42nd U.S. President, Bill Clinton (1993 – 2001)

Now this is a marketing theme of the Black Ops 6 with this live-action trailer, however, there’s one major point here. In the end, we finally get to see the main Black Ops 6 character’s face, which looks very much like Bowman’s son from the Black Ops Cold War.

Bowman was one of the supporting characters of the 2010 Black Ops game, and we got to see his son, William Bowman in Black Ops Cold War‘s live-action teasers. Unfortunately for him/us, he wasn’t featured in the Cold War’s gameplay, even though he was hunting down Perseus. However, as he’s the cover operator of the Black Ops 6, he might play a major role in Russel Adler’s covert missions.

Now one thing that isn’t clearly shown here is whether if Russel Adler is setting up a team to stop Saddam. In fact, Saddam could easily be a puppet in the story, as the game follows the main threat of Perseus that’s still around in the current Modern Warfare 3‘s Rebirth Island.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is due to release in late 2024 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. The PS4 and Xbox One release of this game is not officially confirmed.

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
