A woman resorted to playing the race card after being at fault in a minor collision with another driver. The incident, which occurred in Irvine, California, was caught on camera by the victim and shared on Instagram.
The clip opened up showing the defaulting driver beside her white Mercedes, appearing to be on a call, before panning to show the rear of the vehicle. The woman donned a white two-piece set, carrying a crossbody bag, where her dog lay.
In the footage, the victim is heard explaining the ordeal. “This lady just hit me, and she’s over here being bougie. She’s over here saying she has a nice car,” the other driver explained. “Now she’s calling the cops. She refused to give me her ID and her registration.”
The camera settled on the lad,y who is now heard saying to her phone, “I’m a white female.” In a caption overlaying the clip, the victim detailed, “She asked for my papers.. I was born here.”
The video transitioned to show the arrival of the authorities at the scene. The lady disclosed to the policeman that she also had scratches on her vehicle as she proceeded to take photos of the victim’s car.
The officer is heard advising both parties to take pictures of the accident for insurance purposes, adding that it would be preferable if neither pursued a formal complaint.
After hearing the officer’s comment, the victim stated she had no plans to pursue legal action, though the woman’s behavior unsettled her. When the woman denied the allegations, saying she was “calm,” the victim pointed out that she asked for papers, and that “was not okay.”
Before the video concluded, the officer resolved the matter by reminding both parties to acknowledge that the accident had occurred while outlining the options available to them.
A caption across the clip read, “She said, ‘I just want money… have whiplash,’ and she asked where my papers are at.”
The footage went mainstream, and several social media users wasted no time in dropping their opinions about the incident. One netizen joked, “She’s running late for her filler appointment,” referencing the perpetrator’s plastic surgery.
Another user called out the woman’s actions, writing, “She told the cops, ‘I’m a white female’ wtf.” This other social media enthusiast poked fun at the lady’s appearance, remarking, “She doesn’t even look American herself.”
A fourth person chimed in, “A natural disaster leaving a trail of destruction wherever she may go.”
Regardless of the circumstances, resorting to race and portraying oneself as the victim is inappropriate.
