Bruce Willis’ family has shared a heartbreaking update regarding the Die Hard star’s care and living arrangements as his health continues to rapidily decline. It is never easy making these types of decisions when it comes to your loved ones. However, there comes a time when the only choice left is one of the hardest to make.
At this time, Bruce Willis, 70, no longer resides in his family home with his wife and children. Instead, his wife Emma Heming Willis made the painful decision to relocate him to a nearby home where he can receive 24/7 care.

It wasn’t a decision that came easily for his wife. Radar Online reports that Emma admits it was in everyone’s best interest. Especially their two young daughters, who now get to spend time with their father in a safer, more manageable space.
“But I knew, first and foremost, Bruce would want that for our daughters,” Emma said. “You know, he would want them to be in a home that was more tailored to their needs, not his needs.”
Emma Hemming reveals it is not a cold, impersonal care facility. Instead, they have a second one-story home that serves as a second family home, one that is easy for Bruce to navigate. The home also houses Bruce’s around-the-clock care team.
Bruce Willis’ Family Remains United in Support
While the family no longer lives in the same house, they visit daily. Emma ensures that Bruce enjoys daily meals and visits with all his family and friends. It remains a familiar atmosphere with positive energy.
During a recent interview with Diane Sawyer, Emma Heming shares the details of Bruce Willis’ disease, the ups and downs, and the symptoms she noticed before his diagnosis in 2023. Emma said it was all very subtle at first, but she noticed Bruce’s personality and habits starting to shift.

It started with Bruce skipping school drop-offs, withdrawing from conversations, and losing his spark. The shift was frightening. At one point, Emma even admitted she feared their marriage was falling apart before doctors confirmed the truth. In 2023, Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
Through it all, Bruce hasn’t been alone. It hasn’t been the easiest of times, but his blended family, including ex-wife Demi Moore and their daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, has stepped up to surround him with constant love and support.
The disease has stolen much of the Bruce, Emma states. But she and the family cling to the glimpses that remain. While the glimpses of the old Bruce are few and far between, Emma admits, “I’m grateful he’s still here.”
Bruce Willis’ recent changes in his day-to-day life might seem like the end of an era. However, the Willis family refuses to let dementia define their lives. Instead, they’re making sure Bruce’s days are filled with warmth, love, and connection. And yet, if there’s one thing this story proves, it’s that the real strength of his family is that they refuse to let him face his final act alone.
