Getting your car towed for wrongful parking is an expensive mistake, which is why one single mother from Hawthorne, California, had a rather tearful breakdown after it happened to her. To make matters worse, her car is a drop-top Mercedes-Benz, and apparently, she has children who need to be picked up after school. That’s why she tried all her possible avenues to wiggle out of the infraction, but to no avail:
The roadside drama was captured and uploaded by Instagram user malikspellman. In the video, you can see the unnamed blonde woman, possibly in her 40s, already crying and pleading with the authorities to give her a break. She parked in a no-stopping anti-gridlock zone, leading to her vehicle getting towed.
Of course, the woman pleaded for the cops to give her car back as she managed to catch them in the act of towing. The woman’s primary excuse was that nobody else in her family is going to pick up her kids, so she really needed her car, which is probably why Instagram user mailkspellman captioned the video “Stop doing single moms like this Hawthorne.”
You can also hear the woman saying, “Please, I’m a single mom, nobody else is here for me… I have nobody else,” possibly in an attempt to get her car back without paying the fine. Hence, Instagram user malikspellman rallied in support of the single mom, even calling the cops names despite risking getting arrested as well.
At the end of the video, however, the single mom’s tears were all for nothing as she could only cry and curse the cops for doing their job. Thankfully, malikspellman was there to console the blonde single mom, pointing out that her Mercedes-Benz getting towed was just “a minor setback.”
Most People Online Weren’t on the Woman’s Side
Despite the intense begging and the bucket of tears she cried out, a lot of people online found it hard to sympathize with the woman. Some alluded to how she could afford the fine anyway, since she has a Mercedes-Benz, while others thought she was just being too dramatic, since she could just get an Uber if she really needed to pick up her kids, just as malikspellman also said to her.
“She got a Benz she could afford it๐๐๐,” says smkneveryopp
“Girl, get an uber or rental. Relax!” advises .who.is.aj.
Others think she didn’t really deserve to try to get special treatment because she technically broke the law. Hence, the California single mom has since been labeled as a ‘Karen’ due to her entitled behavior. Sadly, she’s just going to have to learn from her mistakes, as no amount of tears or sympathizers will sway those cops.
“Don’t feel bad for her. She literally parked next to a sign that tells you how long she could be parked there,” argues outlawstar85
She knew. She didn’t care, cuz she’s gotten away with it before. She can afford an Uber and tell her kids the car is in the shop. The performative act is old, and the cameraman white knighting is annoying,” explains SethAndBeans
“Why is she trying to make it seem like they are to blame? She is the only one to blame here, she can yell at herself,” according to Avalanche-swe
“The bootlickers rooting for the parking people harassing people by towing cars are the real Karens,” retorts 212Alexander212
