Luigi Mangione remains the subject of conspiracy theories and speculations amid his ongoing murder case. He became an internet sensation earlier this month after allegedly killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The fatal shooting occurred in Manhattan on December 4, but the suspect has vehemently denied all allegations of wrongdoings.

Mangione recently appeared in court to enter a not-guilty plea about the incident. He stood before the judge with his attorneys, Karen and Marc Agnifilo, dressed in a casual ensemble. He donned a maroon sweater over a white collared shirt and khaki pants, looking well-groomed despite the dire situation.

The murder suspect pleaded not guilty to the 11 state charges against him. The list included first and 2nd-degree murder as crimes of terrorism and multiple weapons charges. This marked the second time he has stood by his innocence as he echoed similar sentiments last week. Mangione appeared in federal court to face charges that could result in him getting the death penalty if convicted.

With state and federal charges against him, many wondered which trial would take precedence over the other. However, the feds and the Manhattan D.A.’s Office have reportedly noted Mangione would face the state first. The suspect’s alleged murder of the CEO resulted in a days-long search after he fled the crime scene.

Mangione escaped using a bicycle and exited New York before getting arrested at a McDonald’s in Altoona. An employee called authorities after recognizing him from the viral suspect photos. During their investigation, officers found a diary that allegedly detailed the suspect’s longtime plans to murder the CEO. TMZ pointed out that the notes also highlighted his distrust of the American corporate system.

Critics Slam the Positive Reactions to Luigi Mangione’s Good Looks

Following the CEO’s passing, authorities shared a now-viral suspect photo that had many thirsting for the culprit. The longing for the murder suspect skyrocketed after Mangione’s arrest because his good looks outweighed his alleged crime. These positive reactions to his handsomeness left critics bitter, and they aired their concerns on X.

“I am sure if they pack the jury with women who want to f— him, even though he can’t, he will get off. On this charge,” someone speculated. Another echoed similar sentiments about the attention Mangione was getting, writing, “There’s totally gonna be a Netflix series about this loser, isn’t there?”

The criticism against Mangione continued, with more X users pushing for his punishment while slamming his fans. Someone told his supporters to “suck it,” stressing that there was sufficient evidence against him. A fellow critic added that he should be held accountable, while an X user bashed him as a “coward.”

Mangione’s not-guilty pleas come days after We covered his indictment on federal charges and the possible death penalty. Prosecutors in the Southern District of New York hit the murder suspect with a federal criminal case. Their legal move against him followed the three state murder charges and other crimes filed by the Manhattan DA’s Office.

Reports noted that prosecutors would push for maximum punishment against Mangione, such as the death penalty. This type of punishment was abolished in New York State in 2007; however, that did not stop prosecutors. This possible outcome did not sit right with the murder suspect’s attorney, who slammed their actions as a witch hunt.

Will Luigi Mangione escape the death penalty? Only time can time.
