Chanel West Coast has gotten slammed by her own Instagram followers as she shows off a bathing suit and Western-inspired cowboy boots. The MTV star and rapper, 36, made sure to plug her Coasty Swim brand on Instagram this week, but she didn’t get the usual outpouring of love.
Chanel, who launched her eco-friendly swimwear brand in 2022, added cowgirl accents from her footwear as she stunned in a yellow one-piece, but users quickly hated on her, basically telling her that she’s never been “country.” Chanel, whose music career has largely leaned toward rap and hip-hop, seemed keen to pull a Beyonce-style Cowboy Carter in these snaps, but her fans just weren’t feeling it.
Chanel West Coast Stuns In Bathing Suit And Cowboy Boots On Instagram
Sharing a duo of slides, Chanel brandished her cream cowboy hat in her first photo, posing by greenery as she soaked up rays on a terrace.
Displaying her fit figure in a plunging bathing suit, the West Coast Hustle star flashed her hourglass waistline and toned legs, flaunting the results of her workouts and her post-baby liposuction. Showing off her plump pout while wearing her hair down, Chanel added embellished white cowboy boots rising to the knees, completing her look with a full face of matte makeup.
Fans also got a two-piece version in a swipe right. Here, the Miami-based sensation rocked a skimpy bathing suit in buttercup yellow, switching to a poolside setting while rocking shades and fun pigtails. In a caption, she wrote: “It’s a @coastyswim kinda day,” also asking fans to pick their favorite of the two photos.
Getting Told She Was Never ‘Country’
While the post netted over 18,000 likes, plus a fire emoji from boyfriend and baby daddy, Dom Fenison, it also sparked drama.
“You ain’t even a little bit country,” one fan replied. While another went down the positive route and called Chanel a “Coasty cowgirl,” a third added:
“Have you even put a saddle on a horse? Or clean the stall, or been on a farm taking care of the animals 🤔 just because you wear flannel and knee-high boots in your video being around trucks does not mean that you are country.”
Chanel was also asked what is country “about” you as she appeared to garner even more negative replies. Chanel made headlines over two years ago for launching Coasty Swim, a size-inclusive, eco-friendly brand. The mom of one has 20,000 fans following her brand’s Instagram.
