A middle-aged Connecticut man went off on some teenagers who accidentally sprayed liquid on his trailer while playing with their water gun. A video of the altercation was posted on Reddit, sparking a debate about his reaction.
In the video, the man was captured standing at the passenger’s side of the teenager’s car and yelling. He threatened to punch them and asked them how they would feel if he did that. “You have responsibility, right? You’re in a car, right? If I punched you in the face, how would that feel?” When the kids answered no, the “male Karen” proceeded to ask, “Then why the f*ck would you do that to other people’s property? Respect people’s f*cking property!!”
The teenagers tried to calm the man down, telling him that they were sorry. However, he remained agitated. When he noticed the camera, he became even more angry, “You’re recording me? I don’t give a f*ck! You think it’s okay to do this?”
Still livid, the middle-aged man said that the teenagers should keep recording so the whole world can see what they did wrong. One of the teens then asked what they had done wrong, but this seemed to anger the man even more. “I gotta explain what the f*ck you did wrong just now!?” The teens tried to explain that it was just water, but the man proceeded to angrily slam their water gun against his knee, breaking it into two.
Shocked, the teenagers asked the man to pay for the gun he broke, but he refused, asking them to pay for his truck, even though there was no visible damage to it. He went ahead and asked them to “sue” him, and even told them to retrieve his information from his truck.
Social media users were divided about the incident, with some defending the man and some criticizing his actions. One user commented, “It’s just water, dude. When it rains, does he have a similar meltdown? Although that blue liquid doesn’t look like water.” Another added, “I can’t fathom how angry you guys must get when it rains…”
One user pointed out that the teenagers might’ve been annoying, but they were only teenagers. “The only person who sucks here is the grown man who is taking his anger out on children.”
Another group of users defended the man. “Bro, harmless pranks should be with friends and family. Spraying strangers with water is a dick move. It’s not that hard of a concept,” a supportive comment read.
Another user added that just because someone’s car is on the street doesn’t mean they should squirt liquid on it, even if it’s water.
