This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information.

Corpse Party, initially developed by Team Gris Gris for PC, and later for the PSP, has managed to entrap the Nintendo 3DS within the walls of its haunted death trap. The 3DS version, published by XSEED Games, released on the portable console on October 25 in the U.S. and on the 26th in Europe. Hm, a bloody horror game releasing near the end of October. Must be a coincidence.

The game follows a group of Japanese school kids who are unwittingly thrown into the cursed Heavenly Host Elementary School. Controlled by the undying hatred of the sadistic Sachiko Shinozaki, the ethereal campus does everything in its power to torture and kill the living humans who foolishly perform the Sachiko Ever After charm and enter the school. And make no mistake, several of the unfortunate cast will not make it out alive.

It gets better. The localized version of Corpse Party will be uncensored, bringing fans all the blood and guts the series is known for, as well as a little bit of extra content and the original Japanese-dubbed voice acting from the PSP version. Corpse Party is available in physical and digital copies for $30.

The Corpse Party released on 3DS is the first game in the series, more specifically the remade Blood Covered: …Repeated Fear version. Subsequent titles in the series include Book of Shadows, in which two of the protagonists investigate the Shinozaki estate, and Blood Drive, which continues from where Book of Shadows left off. A semi-spinoff game, Sachiko’s Game of Love, takes place within Book of Shadows to help set up for Blood Drive.

Now that you’re all caught up, here are two tips for survival. Number one, do not perform the Sachiko Ever After charm. Number two, click this link to see all the awesome gaming news The Nerd Stash has to offer.
