Privacy isn’t a tough concept to understand, right? Especially when you’re rooming with other people and helping with rent. So naturally, your room should be your personal space and roommates should ask for permission to enter. Now, you’ve heard of roommates crossing that line, but parents? One Georgia woman captured footage of her roommate’s crazy Karen of a mother invading her room and harassing her. I guess some people don’t understand privacy.
TikTok user Junkwurldd shared the disturbing (and irritating) video, some of which came from inside her bedroom when she wasn’t present. You can hear her cat meowing and then, suddenly, an older woman appears in her room and closes the door behind her. You even see her holding up her phone, presumably recording, then removes the woman’s Ring camera from her room. All the while, the crazy Karen is arguing she “doesn’t consent” to being recorded.
“Why are you touching my things?” you can hear TikToker Junkwurldd saying over her Ring camera. After all, she paid for it and there was no need for consent since she wasn’t supposed to be there. And that’s not even the worst part: her roommate’s mother doesn’t even live there! Why is this lady dictating the boundaries of an apartment she doesn’t pay for?
In a follow-up video, Junkwurldd shares more of the harassment she got, which also included her roommate’s sister joining in. The sister, who also doesn’t live there, is heard telling Junkwurldd to “get her shit together” and leave. Even the police were there, who were called by the crazy Karen because of the cameras in Junkwurldd’s room.
“Why do they think they areee? Did you sign the lease or them bc it’s the audacity and entitlement,” wondered one commenter. But one person was asking the real questions: “I don’t understand where your roommate is in all of this and where is the landlord? He is responsible for changing the locks.” Is the roommate involved or does she just have a very overbearing family? Yikes!
Luckily, Junkwurldd explained in her comments that she’s already working on moving out. And thank God for that! Trying to save money by bunking with a roommate isn’t worth this kind of abuse.
