Turbulence wasn’t the only thing passengers experienced during one shocking holiday trip last year. Cameron Dylan McDougall, a 28-year-old Canadian traveler, is making headlines after newly released surveillance footage shows him launching a full-blown attack on TSA agents at Miami International Airport, and the video is just as wild as it sounds.
The incident happened on December 28, 2024, during the busy holiday travel season. McDougall had just landed in Miami after being booted from a Copa Airlines flight from Panama to Canada for allegedly punching another passenger mid-air, forcing an emergency landing. Despite the mid-flight brawl, McDougall wasn’t arrested upon arrival, and things only got worse from there.
While attempting to catch a connecting Air Canada flight back to Toronto, McDougall erupted again, this time at the airport. Surveillance video shows him storming the security checkpoint and swinging at TSA agents in front of stunned travelers. One officer dodged the initial punch, but others weren’t so lucky.

In the footage, McDougall is seen throwing multiple punches, even flipping over a screening bin cart during the scuffle. One TSA agent managed to grab his legs, but McDougall continued jabbing from the ground, leaving at least one officer with minor injuries. Police eventually intervened and ended the rampage.
According to officials, the violence didn’t stop at TSA. Just minutes before the attack, McDougall reportedly got into another physical altercation with a fellow traveler. When a security guard tried to break it up, McDougall attacked him too, before doubling back to launch the now-viral TSA assault.

Passengers reacted to the incident, as Russell Hill told CBS, “It is a shame. It is unacceptable in this day and age and it should not be tolerated. There is no room for it.” Chicago native Dimitri Liangos said, “This was really a strange act. I have never seen that. Somebody acting like that. It is not a good look for people from Canada and Canadian citizens.”
Social media also reacted to the video. “How many times and chances is he allowed to strike and attack people like this? This is crazy,” one user wrote on “Good Morning America”‘s Instagram video. “Try that in prison,” another said.
McDougall pleaded guilty to two federal charges of assaulting and resisting officers earlier this month. Each charge carries up to one year behind bars, and sentencing is scheduled for May 30. But that’s not the end of his legal woes. McDougall is also facing state charges, including three counts of felony battery on law enforcement and one misdemeanor battery. He’s due in court again on June 2.
With his violent airport outburst now on full display, one thing’s for sure. McDougall’s holiday travel story has taken a very serious detour, straight into legal trouble.
