Karens are certainly an interesting type of human being; interacting with them can leave you both infuriated yet confused. With that said, a family was sitting in a car parked on an NYC street while waiting for the mom to come out of a building. Suddenly, a Karen driver rams into the back of their car, gets out, and runs off. After 10 minutes, she suddenly returns and tries to drive off as if nothing happened. When the dad tries to stop her and exchange phone numbers, she snaps back with, “I’m just a mom. You’re horrible people. I am a lawyer.”
Posting to Reddit about the whole ordeal, OP was very confused with the hit-and-run woman’s deranged behavior. “I knew NYC was crazy but this was a wild interaction.” While the lady thought she got off scot-free by just driving away from the accident, the family luckily snapped a few pictures of her license plate and car when she mysteriously scurried off for 10 minutes. “Will NYPD even care?” they ask, seeing how the damage was minor, but the Karen definitely handled the accident very poorly, if not in an illegal manner.
“Doesn’t matter if NYPD cares to be honest. Call the police, get a police report. She hit your car and left,” the top comment reads. The Reddit user goes on to state that fleeing the scene of an accident is a crime in NYC, and it should be an “instant win against her insurance” if she attempts to claim anything dishonest. “Your insurance will care. File a complaint and get you car fixed,” says another Redditor. One rather feisty user questions why OP would even ask Reddit in the first place when filing a report should be obvious. “NPC mentality,” says a reply.
Another person mentions that, even with the photo evidence that the family took of the Karen’s car, the interaction and accident itself should have been caught on some traffic camera. Hopefully, the NYPD can track this criminal down and give her justice.
