Actor Danny Masterson continues to serve his 30-year sentence locked away in the California Men’s Colony. The former That ’70s Show star will mark his second anniversary in September with little to no hope of that changing anytime soon. However, despite everything, former Scientology member and actress Leah Remini seemingly implies the blame does not entirely fall on Masterson.
King of Queens star Leah Remini left the Church of Scientology more than a decade ago and continues to speak out on the organization and members’ horrific details of secrecy and control.

Leah Remini claims the Church still holds a powerful grip on some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. According to Us Weekly, celebrity Scientology members reap a lot of benefits and feel protected by the church, but that doesn’t always work out for the best.
The actress calls out one fallen celebrity, in particular, disgraced actor Danny Masterson. As previously reported, Masterson was sentenced to 30 years for the rape of two women. Leah states that she believes that Danny’s dark past was shaped by the Church of Scientology.
“Scientology made Danny the way he is,” she says. “He was raised to believe that whatever he did, they would figure it out within the walls of Scientology.” However, things have not gone well for Danny Masterson since his arrest, and it appears even the Church of Scientology has turned its back on him.
Danny Masterson’s Grim Existence Behind Bars
After an optimistic start, Danny’s hopes are allegedly rapidly fading. Recent reports indicate that his appeal has stalled, and experts agree that the odds appear to be stacked against him. Materson has very little support in his corner as it seems that not only has his religion abandoned him, but his family and friends have as well.
Danny Masterson is far removed from the glitz and glamorous life he once enjoyed. Isolated and disgraced, Masterson reportedly drifts through a lonely existence trapped in a world of regret and despair.

The actor has lost everything and everyone he cared about. Now divorced from his former wife, Bijou Phillips, he rarely, if ever, sees his daughter. Leah Remini adds that Masterson’s estranged wife has also left the Church of Scientology and moved on with her life. Even his closest friends, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, have distanced themselves completely.
These days, Danny Masterson sits behind bars, cut off from the fame and friends he once enjoyed. The Church of Scientology may have shaped parts of his worldview, per Leah Remini, but it’s clear the consequences are his to bear.
With his former inner circle gone silent and no public support in sight, Masterson is left to face the grim reality of a 30-year sentence alone. However, no amount of faith or past connections can undo the damage. With nothing much to look forward to. He’ll likely serve out every dark and depressing year all alone.
