Just one day after the death of her daughter, Carrie Fisher, actress Debbie Reynolds has died of a stroke. According to TMZ, the 84 year old was arranging funeral plans for Carrie with her son Todd Fisher at his home in Beverly Hills when the incident occurred.

Reynolds was rushed to the hospital at around 1 pm after her son called 911 to report a possible stroke. Just yesterday she expressed her gratitude for the support shown by her daughter’s fans on Facebook.

“Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter,” she wrote. “I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop.”

Alongside being the mother to Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds was not only an actress but a one-time oscar nominee, playing the starring role in “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.” Fans might remember her best for her appearance in Singing in the Rain, holding her own with stars Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor at the young age of 19.

Reynolds wholesome girl next door portrayal landed her more than 50 movies roles as well as a singing career, once knocking the king himself Elvis Presley from the top of the chart. The No. 1 pop hit, “Tammy,” was derived from her 1957 romantic comedy Tammy and the Bachelor.

Recently, the actress received multiple awards for her dedication to the industry. In January of 2015, she was presented the SAG lifetime achievement award and also won an honorary Oscar in 2016.

“I’ll keep singing and dancing until I’m too old to stand up,” she once said.

Debbie Reynolds was born April 1, 1932, and died on December 28, 2016 (aged 84). She is survived by her son Todd who told the AP press “She’s now with Carrie and we’re all heartbroken.”
